Web Hosting

What is web hosting, and why do I need it? Web hosting is where all of your files are kept on a server. This server lets people access your public website. Think of this as the street address or building that your store would be in. As with all stores there are places that only employees are allowed to enter, so you can still have secure files that are not accessible to the public, while maintaining a public face for the general public to use and interface with. This is necessary if you want to have a website, but we are not the only option. There are several other services like GoDaddy that offer web hosting, but we are far cheaper.

ICANN Registration

What is ICANN and why do I have to register with them?
The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers is a nonprofit organization responsible for coordinating the maintenance and procedures of several databases related to the namespaces and numerical spaces of the Internet, ensuring the network's stable and secure operation. -Wikipedia

Basically this is like registering your car with the DMV, only slightly less painful. This registration prevents other people from using your domain name, just like there are no 2 license plates in use. Your domain name is the www.domain-name.com.

This needs to be renewed every year. We have certain packages offered in which we will do this for you, with your information if you have not all ready done this.

Website Maintenance

What is web maintenance and why should I be bothered? What web maintenance is as we are concerned is small changes or additions to your website. For example if you happen to change your phone number, wanted to re-word a paragraph to better convey your message, or just wanted to add in some extra information. Basically it covers any and all changes that would need to be made to your website after it has been launched, or made available to the public. Think of this as sort of an insurance policy that you would get on your car, hopefully you might not need it but if you do it is good to know that it is there. With that being said, this option is not for everyone. Not everyone needs to make changes to their website after it is published, which is what we call a "static website". An example of a static website would be a small informational page for a restaurant. They have their address, hours of operation and menu on the site; all of which will not change. For some people adding new content to their site happens on a regular basis, it is for them that we offer this service.

This service is included in the web hosting option.

Website Migration

This service is pretty simple, we take your website from one hosting server and move it to another hosting server. This includes pointing your email to where it needs to go, and making sure that your site works when it is on the new server. There should be minimal if any interruption to your site services and to your email that is tied to your website.
